Samchyky and Starokonstantinov

My friends and I got an idea of traveling around and make the top ten of the places to see located in not more than 100 km from the place we live:) So this is one of the places I've visited in summer, and it's surely among these ten sights to visit!

The story begins in the city of Khmelnitskyi where we decided to go and visit Samchyky, a village where about 150 years ago very rich colonel used to live.

On the way there we stopped at Starokonstantyniv, a small town with a really rich history. This building was a castle with church, something like a fortress built in 11 century.

To the village itself, we were hitchhiking (and it's another story about hitchhiking in Ukraine), and then had to walk for about 3 kilometers through the village to see the mansion.

After the revolution, the place was confiscated and used as library, then a warehouse, then a laboratory, and only now it is a museum with a very little funding. You will see the walls peeling off.

In the times when this mansion was built people where fond of Oriental cultures (not less then now I assume:)) And this room was kind of relaxing place (for meditations I guess:)), and it was close to the Ball hall.

The park was designed by an English or Irish landscape designer of those times who remade the park in the English-style, and the park looks pretty well even now.

Atlantida, the Cave

Mud, crystals, and lots of fun, and just in 100km from the place I live:)

25 °C

If you ever wanted to visit a cave, but you don't like the mud, moist, and don't like to squeeze through, then Atlantida is not a place for you to go. - that's what a friend of my have said to me when I was asking him about the place. But I was sure that he is a bit exaggerating,, but no,, he was not.

But it is really a fantastic place and if you decide to go there, you have to be fit and have no panic in the closed spaces. I am adding some pictures to show what one will experience there:)
